When I was younger, I did many foolish things.
I still do foolish things. This evening, my father called and used one of them as a lesson to re-teach me.
I snuck into our car which was unlocked and played around with the knobs and everything that could be manipulated. I found the cigarette lighter.
As I inspected it, it was grey in colour instead of the red or orange which I associated with heat. I proceeded to stick my finger in and then pull it out, staring in disbelief at my white finger tip.
The key to being a kid, is never gettting caught with the trouble you cause. So I headed to the laundry room, and tried to scrub the white skin off of my finger.
It then began to bleed and bleed and bleed.
So I showed my parents. I then blamed my parents for leaving the car unlocked and not teaching me that grey could be hot too.
My Dad called tonight to ask me whos fault it really was. I knew he wanted to hear me say it was both our faults, so I conceeded.
I still think it was his fault.
He's trying to show me that right now I'm messing up, and he feels its both of of our faults.
